Comfort Food Infusion was the first blog (website) I created with WordPress. I had such great fun personalizing, customizing and making the website truly my own. I started the blog more as an adventure and a lesson in creation, than for the purpose of blogging. I did enjoy blogging for a little while, but learned that it was difficult to create new recipes and write about them on a regular basis. This wasn’t a disappointment for me though, as my intention was to learn the basics and beyond of website design and customization. I still maintain the site and may post a recipe now and then, but if you visit you will find that I update it infrequently.
I created the logo and the social media ‘coffee mug’ buttons. I customized the green, kitchen-ware background (visible in desktop version) and inserted it in place of a default background. All of the pictures were taken by me, and I edited them for beauty and aesthetics in Photoshop. I integrated social media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram) as well as SEO (Search Engine Optimization). The site was also customized for mobile viewing. The version you see when using a smart phone or mobile device behaves differently, and is very user friendly for a small screen.
